A Wallpaper series exploring the views of Russell Brand.

Artist Book and Wallpaper Installation

Addiction presents a snapshot of views expressed by Russell Brand. These views have been collected from his podcast news channel (The Trews), through interviews, and from his 2014 book ‘Revolution’.  The work is set against the backdrop of the 2014 UK General Election.

The work takes the form of 3 wallpaper designs presented within a bespoke wallpaper sample book & 2 friezes capturing:

  • The ubiquity of election coverage;

  • The reliance of Russell Brand on daily patterns of behaviour for a recovery lifestyle;

  • The fact that as a decorative artform, wallpaper can be taken as a statement piece worth attention or can be easily dismissed even if it is trying to communicate something serious;

  • The fact that wallpaper can paper over the cracks.
